Sono talks up survival

Cape Town - Following their recent rise in form, Jomo Cosmos coach Jomo Sono believes his side is closer to retaining their top-flight status.

Ezenkosi moved up to 14th in the Premiership standings with 25 points after a win and two draws in their last three league outings.

They are currently four points ahead of University of Pretoria and five in front of bottom-of-the-table Maritzburg United in their relegation battle.

United have a game in hand but face a difficult away trip to Orlando Pirates on Saturday, followed by a clash with Ajax Cape Town, before traveling to Cosmos on the final day of the season.

AmaTuks, on the other hand, are away at Polokwane City on Sunday and have a home game against in-form Golden Arrows on May 21st.

"Hopefully by the time we get to play Maritzburg we would have wrapped it all up," Sono said. "That probably depends on how Maritzburg and Ajax play.

"But I think it's all over. If we win against Arrows we go to 28 points and I don't think they will be able to catch us. It's finished."
