Cape Town - Cape Town City's Shu-Aib Walters has signed an extension to his current deal with the Citizens and will now spend the 2017/18 season with the club.
Walters, who has been called up to Bafana Bafana squads in the past and was a part of the 2010 World Cup squad, was in fine form last year as the side from the Mother City ended third in the Premiership.
In addition, the 35-year-old played a major role as City claimed their first silverware with a Telkom Knockout victory over SuperSport United last December.
As such, he has been rewarded for his displays with a new deal. His agent Rasthoem Simons told Soccer Laduma: "Negotiations have gone on for a while and we have come to an agreement to sign a one-year contract extension. We are happy."
Despite his confident form, Walters was left out of Stuart Baxter's Bafana squad to face Nigeria in a crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Saturday.
