Cape Town - Bidvest Wits midfielder Dillon Sheppard believes the experience of Daine Klate and Elias Pelembe will be vital to their push for the Absa Premiership title this season.
Both Klate and Pelembe arrived during the pre-season transfer window and have helped propel the Clever Boys into pole position in the PSL with a three-point lead over second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns after the opening 11 league games of the season.
"Well, they are performing very well and I mean they are top players and they have won leagues before," Sheppard told Goal website.
"They have been there, done that, so it's vital for us to use that experience and quality they bring to the team, especially in the latter part of the season.
"I mean, they have been doing the job and they are very good signings so far for the club."
The veteran midfielder has only made two league appearances for the Students this season and is only on a one-year deal with the club.
Speculation is mounting that his playing days are coming to an end but if rumours are to be believed, Sheppard is due to be offered a role on the technical bench next term due to his good relationship with current Wits head coach Gavin Hunt.
The league leaders return to action after the break for the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations with a tough away trip to Soweto to take on defending champions Kaizer Chiefs on December 19.
