Cape Town - The future of former Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot winner Moeketsi Sekola will be resolved this week, according to his agent Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi.
The South Africa international forward signed a lucrative pre-contract with Highlands Park in January, after rejecting to stay at Free State Stars.
However, the Lions of the North have since been relegated to the National First Division and now his representative is looking at ways to get his 28-year-old client out - with the prospect of moving to the National First Division.
"We are going to be talking to Highlands Park tomorrow so they can release him (Sekola)," Mulovhedzi told KickOff website.
"The problem is that the player signed for a R100 000 salary, with a 10% increase every season, plus a R300 000 signing-on-fee. That means he was going to get R10 000 increase every season.
"But now the problem is that the club is going to play NFD football next season which will be a mountain to climb for the club to afford that, (because) we all know the grant there is not that much."
Sekola scored 21 goals and registered eight assists in 99 games for Ea Lla Koto since joining the club from Roses United in 2013.
