Cape Town - Chippa United midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni claim he had no knowledge whatsoever of his reported move to Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
Sangweni played a crucial role last season when Chippa secured a top-eight finish for the first time in the Premiership.
The 27-year-old looks to be on the verge of following in the footsteps of his elder brother Siyabonga in joining the Buccaneers, but he claims he had no idea a deal was even being discussed.
"I don't know anything, and I can't say anything either. I have no comment. As I'm speaking to you I'm at home and I don't know anything," Sangweni told KickOff.
"But having said that, the interest excites me. That means the work I do on field is there for everybody to see.
"Everything is fine in Port Elizabeth, but I can't lie. I can't promise that I will be there next season.
"That is why I'm maintaining I don't know what will happen. All I know is that I'm part of Chippa United as I speak, and I don't know anything as of now.
"Also, the reason why I returned home early was because there was something urgent that needed me at home. But everything is okay now."
