Ritchie signs for Clever Boys

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits have strengthened their defence with the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United left-back Keegan Ritchie.

The 27-year-old defender played just four league games for Matsatsantsa last season and having featured only once in the current campaign, SuperSport recently released him.

But he will get the chance to revive his career after defending champions Wits came in for his signature.

Remarkably this is the fourth club Ritchie has signed for over a four-year period having previously represented Bloemfontein Celtic, Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United.

"Bidvest Wits welcomes the newest signing, Keegan Ritchie. Welcome to the Clever Boys family Keagan," the club stated on their Twitter account.

The Clever Boys currently lie bottom of the Absa Premiership standings, equal on points with Platinum Stars and AmaZulu, but with an inferior goal difference.

Their next fixture is on Friday night against Bloemfontein Celtic at the Bidvest Stadium.

Kick-off is at 20:00.
