Referee was not PSL level, says Palacios

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates interim head coach Augusto Palacios did not hide his dissatisfaction with the referee after the Buccaneers played to a goalless draw against Platinum Stars.

Both sides failed to find the back of the net at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium as the Premiership resumed after an extended festive season break.

Referee Olani Kwinda controlled the match but Palacios was not impressed with the way the official handled the game.

"I think the official today, he needs to be on the level of the PSL. I don’t think the running of the game for both sides was at the level of the PSL," as quoted by KickOff.

"This is not the MDC (MultiChoice Diski Challenge).

"People pay for their tickets and you know what they say, best referee, best game. I have nothing against the referee, but I think the level was too high for him."

Pirates season will not get any easier as they face off against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, February 11.

Kick off is at 15:30.
