PSL opens transfer window

Cape Town - The Premier Soccer League have announced that the off-season transfer window is currently open, also confirming the date for the start of the new season.

The transfer window will be open for the next two months, while the start of the new campaign is slightly later than usual due to the South African U-23 side playing in the Olympic Games in Rio.

"The Premier Soccer League (PSL) confirmed that the South African domestic July transfer window has opened today (Friday), 01 July 2016," read the statement released by the PSL.

"The domestic window will close on Wednesday night, 31 August 2016. As part of the new NSL Handbook, the domestic transfer window will no longer close at 17h00 but at midnight.

"The PSL has also confirmed that the 2016/17 domestic football season will kick-off on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24, August 2016.

"The PSL Executive Committee took a decision to delay kick-off of the domestic season to allow the coach of the SA U23 side to select the players he required for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio."
