Cape Town - Orlando Pirates will seek to recover from their 6-0 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns when they face an in-form Bidvest Wits side for their Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.
The Buccaneers will be hoping to bounce back from the result in a game that was marred by crowd violence, and the prospect of Gavin Hunts side won't be the easiest of tasks.
Pirates come into this fixture against genuine title contenders after the Students displayed some ruthless finishing in a 5-0 win over Ajax Cape Town.
While the Buccaneers, led by interim-coach Augusto Palacios will be keen to make up for their indifferent form displayed of late and get the season back on track ahead of the announcement of a new head coach on after the weekend.
"I can give as a guarantee is that next week Monday, because of what has happened, we are going to be announcing the new coach," the Soweto giants chairman Irvin Khoza told the media this week.
"We are expecting a very tough game on Wednesday against Pirates. They will certainly come out much stronger and determined to protect their pride," Wits manager Gavin Hunt told his club's official website ahead of the encounter.
The Students could move to the top of the table with an away win, while the Sea Robbers have an opportunity to creep back into the top half of the table.
Both sides have no new injuries or suspensions to report of for the highly anticipated mid-week clash.
Kick off is at 19:30.
