Polokwane confirm Eymael as new coach

Cape Town - Polokwane City FC have announced the appointment of Belgian manager Luc Eymael as their new head coach ahead of the new Premiership campaign.

The Belgian comes with a wealth of continental experience within Africa and could well be a major coup for the side who finished 13th in the standings last season.

Eymael replaces Brazilian Julio Leal as 'Rise and Shine' continue their trend of appointing experienced foreign managers.

The following statement was released on the club's official website: "The Chairman of the Club, Johny Mogaladi, welcomed the coach to the Province and both parties have opted not to disclose the logistics involving the contract.

"The Belgian coach is no stranger to the footballing fraternity as his experience boosts having won numerous championships, Leagues and accolades with teams such as As Vita of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in 2010, 1st League of Gabon with the team Missile FC in 2012 obtained fourth position with the latter.

"Recently during the 2014/15 season coach Eymael was the runner up with FC Rayon Sports Rwanda in the 1st League in Rwanda. And his last tenure was with Al Merreikh of Sudan during the 2015/16 where he left to join the 'Rise and Shine'.

"Coach Eymael has been welcomed to Polokwane City with warm hands by the players, technical team and the staff. Here's to a great and exciting season ahead!"
