Platinum Stars unveil new signings

Cape Town - Platinum Stars general manager Senzo Mazingiza has unveiled three new signings as the club looks to bolster their squad ahead of the 2016/17 Premiership season.

Dikwena revealed the news of the signings of Henrico Botes, Thobani Kunene and Benson Shilongo on the club's official twitter page.

"We have acquired the services of the veteran Henrico Botes as well as Thobani Kunene and Benson Shilongo," Mazingiza announced.

"Botes makes his return to the club after playing at Bidvest Wits for some time. He brings a lot of experience and he knows the culture of the club.

"We have also signed Shilongo from Namibia. We have been monitoring him. He is a good striker. He was a top scorer at Gaborone United in Botswana. We have been following him also in Cosafa. He is turning 24.

"We have also signed a youngster Kunene a striker from Kings United who was top scorer in the ABC Motsepe League in his region.

"We are also looking at adding one or two more players. We hope to finalize that within two weeks."

Mazingiza went on the reveal the players who would be leaving the club, including former Orlando Pirates winger Tlou Segolela.

"The club has parted ways with Bouna Coundoul, Kagiso Mlambo, Thabiso Semenya, Letladi Madubanya, Sibusiso Hadebe, Mahlatse Makudubela, Tlou Segolela, Eleazar Rodgers, Emmanuel Mathias, Mduduzi Nyanda and Vincent Khumalo," he said.
