Pitso unaware of Mahlangu's interest

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he is unaware if May Mahlangu is interested in a move to Chloorkop.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been a free-agent since his short-term deal with Sint-Truiden in the Belgium Pro League came to an end.

It's unclear at this stage where the player's next destination might be - the Bafana Bafana international recently turned down a move to a club in the German second tier.

"I like May and he's a good boy‚ a good player. He was with me at Bafana Bafana (when Mosimane was national team coach) but I have not seen him play in a long time," the Brazilians coach said as quoted by Times Live.

"But there is footage in Belgium and most of the games there are televised. If you want footage of the Belgian league you will be able to get it."

Mosimane concluded: "But first there must be interest. Why must I go to the trouble of getting footage when I don't know if he wants to come to us or not. And also can I afford him?

"All those things play a role. Also where is he going to play? Are we not duplicating in that position?"

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
