Pitso to rest stars for Club World Cup

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed his plans to rest key performers ahead of the club's Club World Cup campaign in Japan in December.

LIVE scoring and interactive commentary on the Absa Premiership clash between Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kick off is at 19:30.

The Brazilians have had a busy year following their commitments in winning the CAF Champions League, and a number of Mosimane's squad have started to experience injury and fatigue.

In recent weeks the likes of Leonardo Castro, Mzikayise Mashaba and Themba Zwane have been rotated into the starting line-up, as the 52-year-old looks to share the workload.

He has also since given key squad members a rest with Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly amongst those who are being used more sparingly in the Premiership.

Masandawana's coach told SunSport: "I'm saving players for Japan. The likes of Leonardo Castro, Mzikayise Mashaba, and Themba Zwane should play."

The Club World Cup is set to get under way from 5 December, with the final on 18 December. Sundowns' first match will be against either New Zealand's Auckland City or Japan's J League champions.
