Cape Town - Polokwane City midfielder Cole Alexander admits he had interest from Mamelodi Sundowns, but says he chose to join SuperSport United for the sake of his career.
The 26 year-old will join Matsatsantsa at the end of the current season on a two-year contract, but admitted that SuperSport's Tshwane rivals also showed a keen interest in his services.
Alexander said: "I thought long and hard about my decision. I made the right decision and it is a good move for my career. I can only thank God... It is a good deal for me and I'm grateful.
"SuperSport is a very good team and I rate them among the best in the country... It was between SuperSport and Sundowns. Pitso [Mosimane, Sundowns coach] showed interest in me and [Stuart] Baxter [of SuperSport] as well.
"I based the move partially on the coach wanting me, plus SuperSport is a good club and a good brand.
"Sundowns did show interest, but it was back and forth. SuperSport, honestly, they showed more interest... I'm also very grateful to Polokwane. I'm grateful to the chairman."
