Pitso: Pienaar must have fun in SA

Cape Town - With a number of PSL clubs vying for his signature, Pitso Mosimane is another coach who won't mind having Steven Pienaar in their squad.

The former Bafana Bafana coach revealed that he would love to bring former Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar to the club.

Pienaar is a free agent after parting ways with The Toffees in the English Premier League at the end of last season and has been heavily linked with a move to Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

"We love Pienaar I don't know what's happening with Schillo. He has got options," Mosimane told KickOff.

"For him it's not about money. I think he must have fun in South Africa. A good boy, my captain with Bafana. We share good moments.

"I knew him when he was 16 years old. I was visiting his parents in a flat in Westbury when he was 16. I watched his games in the squad of Under-17 when he was still in the School of Excellence.

"I bought him all the books to show him he can go to play in Europe and that he will play in Europe. Those are memories we share and he was my captain."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
