Pitso likens draw to Sunday League match

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns manager Pitso Mosimane likened his sides CAF Champions League Group C opener against Saint George S.C. to a Sunday League fixture.

Mosimane made the reference due to the lack of intensity in the 0-0 draw at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

The Brazilians enjoyed the bulk of possession but were often uncontested as the Ethiopian based side sat back and soaked up the pressure against the Champions of Africa.

"To be honest, I have never seen a mild game like this. This was one of easiest games ever played," he after the game.

"But what is the point in saying it was easy if we don't win. We were not aggressive in the box upfront; we moved the ball and they hardly touched it, but what’s the point?

"Tonight there was no football – this was a Sunday league game. A nice  Sunday afternoon game for over 30s," he added.

"I think after a month of training, I can put my boots back on and play. I could even do something."

Masandawana next face Maritzburg united on Wednesday in their penultimate Absa Premiership clash and will be hoping to pip Bidvest Wits to the PSL title by winning their remaining two fixtures if the Clever Boys drop points.

Kick off is at 19:30.
