Pitso explains Ngele, Malajila departures

Pretoria - Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed the reasons as to why Mogakolodi Ngele and Cuthbert Malajila opted to depart Chloorkop.

Both Ngele and Malajila joined Bidvest Wits on a swap deal, which saw Sibusiso Vilakazi join the Absa Premiership reigning champions last month on a three-year deal.

The former Bafana Bafana coach admits that the duo wanted to play regular football after their frustrations on the sidelines last season.

Mosimane said that Ngele battled to compete for a starting berth with an in-form Khama Billiat in the left wing position and it was more suitable for the Botswana international to leave the Brazilians.

“Both Cuthbert (Malajila) and Ngele want to play regular football, that’s why they left,” Mosimane revealed.

“Ngele said it himself that he wants to play and he is not getting enough game time here (at Sundowns).

“He (Ngele) also said that he has a problem because he doesn’t see himself taking Khama (Billiat) off the number 10 position.

“So both Ngele and Malajila wanted to go because their minds were no longer here, that’s why they were involved in a swap deal with Wits.”
