Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes Brazilian defender Ricardo Nascimento has similar attributes to established first team centre-back, Thabo Nthethe.

Sundowns signed the 29-year-old for the 2016/17 campaign and he has already caught the eye in the limited appearances he has made.

Prior to arriving at Chloorkop, Nascimento had largely played in the lower divisions in Brazil and Portugal. He signed from 'Downs after being relegated with Academica in the Portuguese Primeira Liga in 2015/16.

Nonetheless, Mosimane is of the belief that Nascimento has all the qualities he needs to succeed in the Premiership. The player has made six appearances so far in 2016/17.

Bafana ba Style's boss told the PSL's official website, "Ricardo is an experienced defender. I went to watch him in Portugal.

"I followed him for a year and he is similar to Thabo Nthethe, but with a left foot. But you know the Brazilians, they know how to play."
