Pirates without Jele and Sangweni

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have received a Soweto derby double injury blow with defenders Siyabonga Sangweni and Happy Jele yet to recovery from their injuries.

Sangweni has been struggling with a torn meniscus and ligaments in his knee, while Jele picked up a hip injury.

Pirates will most likely be without both players in the derby against Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Jele had previously been sidelined by a groin injury before the new problem, which has been described as a right hip flexor strain.

While Bucs captain Oupa Manyisa remains sidelined in the long term with a fractured fibula, Lehlogonolo Masalesa has rejoined team training after recovering from a knee injury.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
