Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Happy Jele believes their failure to qualify for CAF competition next season is a blessing in disguise.
The Buccaneers' domestic form has in recent seasons been affected by their exploits in the gruelling CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup competitions.
After beating Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final last month, SuperSport United will be the ones competing in the Confederation Cup.
Jele is optimistic that next season the Sea Robbers will be more competitive in the Absa Premiership and cup competitions.
"Yes, I think now it's our time to focus more on the domestic front; to get one piece of silverware will be important us," Jele told KickOff.
"We've been focusing on CAF so now it's a chance for us focus on winning something at home.
"I think if every player can stay injury free we can try to get some silverware next season.
"We did well in the last couple of games, so if we can start on that note it will be very important for the team."
