Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have offered Senegal international midfielder Issa Sarr a contract extension, in a bid to ward off reported interest from Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Sarr, who joined the Buccaneers from Platinum Stars in 2014, has been an integral part of the side's midfield with his role in front of the back four, but as he enters his final six months of his contract there has been real interest from the north African giants.
However, the 30-year-old's agent Denis Idrissa revealed that his client has already been offered a chance to remain with the Premiership side, beyond the current campaign.
"Pirates want to extend Sarr's contract until 2019. I will discuss it with them when I travel to South Africa," he told Soccer Laduma.
Sarr has scored six goals in 79 games for the Sea Robbers since arriving at Mayfair three years ago.
