Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Thembela Sikhakhane believes his loan spell with AmaZulu in the PSL is an inspiration to prove himself with the Sea Robbers.
The player made just seven league starts in what was a disastrous campaign for Pirates. Bucs finished outside of the top eight in the Premiership, and were destroyed 4-1 in the Nedbank Cup final by SuperSport United.
Despite the poor form and subsequent demise of Bucs, Sikhakhane believes he will reach his potential in the near future with Usuthu.
He told the SowetanLIVE website, "I was not happy with my first season at Pirates because we achieved nothing. I am positive that I will be a better player when I go back there (next season).
He added, "I love the club and they will always be in my heart. Playing for Pirates was a dream come true because when I was young I wished for that opportunity."
"I am excited to be back in KZN. I am sure it will show in my game that I am home now. As far as I am eager to help my new club, I have nothing to prove to Pirates because they have contributed positively in my life. I am thankful to them."
