Patosi backed to have a big season for City

Cape Town - Cape Town City boss John Comitis believes Ayanda Patosi is set to enjoy a successful season after arriving back to pre-season in peak condition.

Patosi endured a roller-coaster of an Absa Premiership campaign in 2017/18 as he produced some match-winning performances at times, however, was also disciplined for weight gain and ill-discipline.

Despite his ups-and-downs, the 25-year-old forward managed a respectable six goals in 25 matches and appears set for even better fortunes in 2018/19.

Nonetheless, Comitis takes the view that the Bafana Bafana international is set to hit the heights after looking magnificent at training.

He told KickOff website: "You must leave a space for me there to comment on Patosi when he starts putting the ball in the net (laughs).

"Everyone is gonna be shocked when Patosi starts scoring every game. You must see this guy, he is on fire.

"He was on 30 percent of his ability and he's come back with a high focus, six kilos less. He is very, very something else this time."

The Citizens possess plenty of attacking talent available for 2018/19 as wingers Riyaad Norodien and Gift Links were recently signed to play for the Mother City-based outfit.
