Parker expecting Chippa revenge mission

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker believes that Chippa United want revenge for their Telkom Knockout defeat to Amakhosi.

Chiefs beat the Chilli Boys 1-0 in a tense Telkom Knockout quarter-final match in Port Elizabeth at the start of November and now face the same side at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in an Absa Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening.

Amakhosi are looking for a win to end a four-match draw streak in the league but Parker is wary of what he expects to be a fired-up home team.

"We know what to expect against Chippa. We played them a few weeks ago, and I think, the way things ended the last time, Chippa weren't happy – the whole team and the coach," he said.

"We know they will come out strong and it will be more of an emotional game for them, and it's just for us to keep calm and do our thing," he said.

The Glamour Boys are in sixth place on the standings but only three points off the summit and they could well be amongst the league leaders if they can finish the 2017 calendar year on a positive note.

"Our focus now is to end the year on a high. We can collect maximum points from our three games," Parker said.

After their match against Chippa, Chiefs face Platinum Stars in Rustenburg and then host Ajax Cape Town ahead of the Christmas break.

Kick off is at 19:30.
