Cape Town - Orlando Pirates caretaker coach Augusto Palacios lambasted the poor character his team showed after conceding late against Baroka FC in their 1-1 draw.
With second remaining in the game, Baroka goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke scored with a stunning overhead kick to snatch a point for his team.
Pirates defender Justice Chabalala opened the scoring in the 48th minute but a late twist saw the opposition goalkeeper grab an unlikely goal.
"We had two clear chances at the end and we did not convert those chances. Obviously the opponent starts playing long balls and you can see how many corners we conceded and their only option was to pump the ball," Palacios told SuperSport.
"We tried to keep the possession and keep the ball flowing but we lost two points unnecessarily. We need to continue forward.
"If you don't convert your chances the opponent is obviously going to equalise. We didn't score the clear chances that we had and it became difficult because in the last five minutes if we had just converted one of the chance we had we would have finished the game.
"It was a difficult game and we defended very well but unfortunately football is like this and in the last minute they equalised."
Next, Pirates welcome Highlands Park to the Orlando Stadium on Saturday for a PSL fixture.
Kick off is at 20:15.
