Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez believes that his first goal in Amakhosi colours will be a huge confidence booster going forward following their emphatic win over the National First Division (NFD) outfit Stellenbosch FC on Saturday.
The Venezuelan international goal poacher was off-the mark alongside Simphiwe Tshabalala and Joseph Molongoane, as the Phefeni Glamour Boys humbled Stellenbosch 3-0 to book a place in the last 16 of the R7m competition.
“I’m happy because I managed to score my first goal for the club,” explained Paez.
“I’m also happy for the whole team after winning our game tonight (Saturday). It was my second game in the starting line-up and we did well together as a team.
“A goal will be a confidence booster for me going forward. My confidence is very high now after scoring and also assisting one for my teammate as well.”
