Nxumalo set for Ajax return

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town have received a major boost ahead of their Nedbank Cup fixture against minnows Kwadukuza United, with striker Prince Nxumalo now available for selection.

The highly-rated forward has been on the periphery of the Urban Warriors' squad in recent weeks due to health scares that's marred his development in the Premiership over the past few seasons.

On the eve on Stanley Menzo's side's 5-0 defeat against Bidvest Wits last month, the former Supersport United forward had to be admitted into a Johannesburg hospital, following a recurring problem with epilepsy.

However, his head coach has now confirmed that he not suffered any issues since last month's events.

"Since that game he hasn't had any problems‚" Menzo told the SowetanLIVE website.

"We have brought him on slowly and he has been training fully with the team. I think he is ready to play."

Nxumalo has scored 16 goals and registered three assists in 38 games since joining Ajax last season.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
