Norodien and Nyauza injuries not serious

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates confirmed that Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Riyaad Norodien's injuries are not as serious as initially feared.

Norodien was a notable omission for the Soweto giants during their 1-1 draw against title-chasing SuperSport United, while Nyauza was substituted in the 45th minute with a suspected hamstring problem.

However, the Sea Robbers have since revealed that the duo will return to training imminently, after undergoing scans on their respective knocks.

"Norodien injured his toe during a training session and was unable to play without feeling any pain and/or discomfort. Like Nyauza, he too will be re-assessed on Friday," read a statement on the club's official website.

The pair may return in time for the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 fixture against EC Bees at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium on Sunday.

Kick off is at 15:00.
