Nomvethe: I'm still beating these youngsters

Cape Town - Premiership legend and current AmaZulu striker Siyabonga Nomvethe continues to astound doubters by firing in goal after goal at the age of 39.

The former Bafana Bafana star, who scored 16 times for his country between 1999 and 2012, has now tallied an incredible 13 goals in 20 games for Usuthu as they chase promotion to the Premiership.

Despite his 40th birthday approaching in December, Nomvethe has ruled out going into retirement anytime soon. He told KickOff website: "I always hear people say, 'When are you retiring?'

"You can't just throw the talent God gave to you if you are still performing.

"As I said, it's not that coaches are doing favours for me.

"When you consider my age, you notice how youngsters don't work hard enough because most of them end up not earning a long-term contract."
