Mbombela - Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder Thabo Nodada said sticking to Mushin Ertugral’s game plan helped AmaZayoni to a 2-0 triumph over the struggling Maritzburg United.
Nodada was on target alongside Judas Moseamedi as AmaZayoni piled more miseries on the Team of Choice at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
The 20-year-old industrious midfielder believes that their victory would be a confidence booster for the Mbombela based outfit heading to their Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash against SuperSport United this coming weekend.
“Scoring a goal playing closer to my home town was a very good feeling for me," said Nodada.
“We went there with a game plan to win at all costs, but we knew that they would throw themselves at us.
“And we also knew that they would create a lot of spaces but we had to be patient obviously and hopefully catch them on a counter attack and it worked beneficially for us.
“Winning that game was a big relief for us after coming from a high profile draw against Chiefs.
“And we had to carry on the momentum into the Maritzburg game and our win will help us with confidence going to the Nedbank cup game against SuperSport United.”
