Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns boss Patrice Motsepe confirmed that South African Football Federation (SAFA) have NOT approached the club for Pitso Mosimane’s services.
Following the dismissal of Shakes Mashaba by SAFA for 'professional misconduct, gross insubordination and violating the association's communications policy', Bafana Bafana are in need of a new head coach.
With SAFA having listed CAF Champions League experience as a prerequisite for the position, Mosimane's name has been thrown into the hat despite the African Coach of the Year recently signing a four-year extension with the Brazilians.
"I will say, just like Pitso, nobody at SAFA has spoken to me," Motsepe told Times Live.
"I can say nobody has approached me about Pitso. But having said that (SAFA) do not need to approach.
"I have lost people who are exceptional and who have gone to live in London and in America, and not because of the money, because we pay them more.
"They have left because they have relatives there or they want to go back home.
"So I am used to losing people that are important to me and you learn over the years.
"Talking about Pitso, what do I personally think? I don't know," he concluded.
