Nkosi defends Ertugral technical team changes

Cape Town - Midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi believes new Orlando Pirates head coach Muhsin Ertugral's wholesale changes to the technical department were to be expected.

The Turkish-born coach brought in Bradley Carnell as his assistant, leaving question marks over the future of long-serving member and former Buccaneers' man Tebogo Moloi.

"Coaches from Europe they come to South Africa and they always do that," Nkosi told Vodacom Soccer.

"Like when he arrives he comes in with his trusted coach, I might be wrong, but I was expecting the same thing at Pirates because in Europe it is their trend.

"As the coach you implement the way you think, you put the foot down to say 'I want this and I want that'.

"I understand why they do so because they refuse to leave grey areas and they always ensure the one next to them is thinking the same thing.

"Sometimes you find coaches not pulling in the same direction and it reflect to you as the coach and everyone who is you around."

The Bucs also appointed vocal coach Zipho Dlangalala as part of the technical team. The former Mamelodi Sundowns man will be a liaison between the development and senior teams.
