Ngele: 'Downs mandated to win something

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Mogakolodi Ngele has set his sights on a second Telkom Knockout championship medal in the final against Kaizer Chiefs on December 16.

Since joining Sundowns at the beginning of the season, Ngele has had a positive impact featured regularly for the Premiership bigwigs.

Having won the Telkom Knockout with Platinum Stars in 2013, Ngele aims to lift the title again in the final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

"We will be (ready for Chiefs), both mentally and physically. We have not won anything this season and a team of Sundowns' calibre is mandated to win something," Ngele told Soccer Laduma.

"So, yes, we are ready to face Chiefs, who are still hurting after having lost the MTN8 to Ajax Cape Town recently. Records are made to be broken.

"It is true that they have won more titles than us but we are not looking at records.

"The focus is the Telkom Knockout and, when we enter the field, those records will be meaningless."
