Cape Town - Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele has been named in Kaizer Chiefs' captains committee by coach Steve Komphela.
'Rama', as he is affectionately known made his debut for the club as Amakhosi brushed aside their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates 2-0 in the Carling Black Label Champions Cup.
The match was played in front of an 80 000 plus crowd at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, July 31.
Eric Mathoho and fellow debutant Luis Macha scored the vital goals in order to secure bragging rights for the Naturena outfit.
Meanwhile, Siphiwe Tshabalala will remain as the club's captain with Itumeleng Khune getting the nod for team captain.
"'Shabba' (Tshabalala) is club captain," said Komphela as quoted by KickOff.
"Two, Itu is team captain. Three we have got Tsepo (Masilela), (Willard) Katsande, (Bernard) Parker and Ramahlwe Mphahlele as vice-captains at Chiefs."
