Potchefstroom - Jomo Cosmos goalkeeper Sherwyn Naicker insisted that his confidence is growing following his heroic performances between the sticks against Orlando Pirates in a 1-0 win at the weekend.
Ezinkosi piled more miseries on the wounded Buccaneers in an Absa Premiership clash played at the Olen Park Stadium on Saturday, thanks to Charlton Mashumba strike in the closing stages.
Naicker insisted that producing two top notch performances against the giants of South African football, Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, were the highlightsof his maiden season in the Premier Soccer League.
“It was an amazing feeling for me to beat Orlando Pirates on Saturday,” said Naicker.
“I don’t think I will forget the moments of drawing against Chiefs and also beating Pirates here at Olen Park.
“And I did brilliantly in both matches so I can say that this has been the highlights of my first season in the PSL.
“I always motivate myself to rise to the occasion and that’s exactly what I did against Pirates.
“And I know that this will help my confidence to grow going forward.”
A win for Ezinkosi moved them one place from the relegation zone as they are currently occupying the 14th spot, with a single point above the University of Pretoria.
Cosmos will travel to Limpopo Province to face Polokwane City in their next league assignment while the Buccaneers will entertain their bitter rivals, Chiefs, at the FNB stadium on Saturday.
