Musona agent refutes Amakhosi links

Cape Town - The agent of Zimbabwe international forward Knowledge Musona has refuted claims that his client is in talks to return to the Absa Premiership with Kaizer Chiefs.

Musona, 27, is currently plying his trade in the Belgian First Division A with KV Oostende and is widely considered as one of the best foreign strikers in the league.

However, prior to his move to Europe, the Zimbabwean hit-man excelled at Amakhosi in two different spells between 2009-2011 and during a loan spell from TSG Hoffenheim in the 2013/14 season.

His 40 goals and 14 assists during his time with the Glamour Boys made him a real fan favorite in Soweto and fans have been abuzz on social media of the rumours linking Musona with a potential return.

But agent Mike Makaab has poured cold water on the speculation in an interview with The Star; "I don't know where is this rumour is coming from.

"Knowledge is still contracted to Oostende and he is happy there. He recently renewed his contract with the team.

"He is one of the most valuable players in Belgium. If he moves he will move in to a bigger league not in South Africa. With due respect to South African league, Knowledge is focused on playing in Europe," Makaab added.

"Chiefs have never said anything to us regarding Knowledge. He had his time in South Africa. Moving back to SA will be like a step back in career now."

Meanwhile Kgotso Moleko says increased maturity and tactical discipline have enabled him to put in some solid performances for Kaizer Chiefs at right back.
