Mulenga: Bucs want to win 'everything'

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates forward Augustine Mulenga says the Soweto giants' goal next season is simple - to win every trophy on offer.

Pirates were arguably the most improved side in the Absa PSL last season after coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic guided them to second spot on the table, nine positions higher than the previous campaign.

Now Mulenga, who joined the club in March and scored three goals in six league games, says the Buccaneers are to continue their momentum in 2018/19, by winning trophies.

"Orlando Pirates is a big club that has gone four years without a trophy; a big team must not stay that long without winning silverware," the Zambian international told KickOff Magazine."A big team must stay only one or two years, and not this long, without a trophy. In football it happens because everyone wants to win.

"When you are fighting for something, you just have to keep on putting in the effort. Next season we just have to work extra hard so that we achieve our goals.

"We want everything because everyone in this team wants to win. I cannot say we just want the Nedbank or the league.

"We want everything and that is why we will fight hard to get everything we want. We will fight hard until the end of the season and see what we will have achieved at that point."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
