Motshwari aiming to be one-club player at Wits

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits midfielder Ben Motshwari has dismissed talk of a move and says he's happy to spend his entire career with the Students.

Having overcome a recent knee injury, Motshwari returned to action with good effect on Saturday evening, replacing Xola Mlambo on the hour mark to help his club beat Bloemfontein Celtic by a 1-0 score-line - in the 2017 Telkom Knockout final in Durban.

Speaking after the game about his future, amid reports of interest from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, the 26-year-old felt it would make little sense for him to part ways with the defending league champions.

"Those are just rumours," he told The Star.

"Things are being said all over the newspapers, especially about Pirates. It has been going for quite some time now but nothing has materialised.

"Wits is also a big team. We've won a couple of trophies now and why would I want to jump the ship? I'm happy here.

"There's something that is good we are doing here at Wits," he continued.

"We have top-quality players here. These guys are my family. Ever since I started playing professional football I've only played for one team, so why not end my career here?"

The Clever Boys are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Ajax Cape Town in an Absa Premiership encounter at the Bidvest Stadium.

Kick off is at 19:30.
