Motsepe: Pitso inspires millions of us

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns chairperson Patrice Motsepe has said that coach Pitso Mosimane inspires millions after guiding the Brazilians to CAF Champions League triumph.

As it happened: Zamalek v Mamelodi Sundowns

The Chloorkop side became only the second South African team to win the CAF Champions League when they beat Zamalek 3-1 on aggregate in the final.

Sundowns took a 3-0 advantage into the second-leg at the Borg El Arab Stadium and defended manfully to lift the trophy 20 years after Orlando Pirates had achieved glory on the continent.

The White Knights attacked at every opportunity to make inroads on the deficit they suffered in the first-leg and managed to find the back of the net in the second-half when Stanley Ohawuchi scored from long range.

However, it wasn't to be as Sundowns were crowned African champions in Alexandria.

After the victory, Motsepe took the liberty to praise Mosimane as an inspiring individual during his speech in the dressing room.

Sundowns will now participate in the FIFA World Club Cup in December where they could face the likes of Real Madrid.

Mosimane and his charges are expected to arrive back in South Africa on Wednesday, October 26.
