Johannesburg - For the past two years, Kaizer Chiefs have been attempting to secure the services of Bidvest Wits striker Sibusiso Vilakazi with no success.
However, Phefeni Glamour Boys Football Manager, Bobby Motaung, has insisted that the Clever Boys are not willing to sell the 26-year-old forward because they have a dream of winning the league.
Chiefs unveiled several new signings ahead of the new 2016/17 season in Naturena on following a mass exodus of players late last month and there was no sign of the Bafana Bafana goal poacher as it was widely speculated that he will be in the Amakhosi colours.
“I want to be honest with the media and the football fraternity,” Motaung said.
“Wits don’t want to sell Sibusiso Vilakazi to Kaizer Chiefs, not only him alone but other players as well.
“Because they have this dream of winning the league so they intend to strengthen their team which is understandable.”
Chiefs announced eight players who will don the famous Black and Gold jersey.
The local faces included former Mamelodi Sundowns skipper Ramahlwe Mphahlele and former Bloemfontein Celtic playmaker Keagan Buchanan.
Amakhosi also secured the service of Sibusiso Khumalo from SuperSport United, Enocent Mkhabela, Emmanuel Letlotlo and the two Zimbabwean internationals in Edmore Chirambadare and Michelle Katsvairo.
