Motaung praises Motsepe for contributing to SA soccer

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs chairperson Kaizer Motaung has congratulated Mamelodi Sundowns for their continental triumph.

As it happened: Zamalek v Mamelodi Sundowns

The Chloorkop side crowned CAF Champions League champions after beating the fancied and experienced Zamalek of Egypt 3-1 on aggregate.

The Brazilians have now become the second South African side to win the Champions League after Orlando Pirates conquered the continent in 1995.

According to the official Kaizer Chiefs website, Motaung has praised Patrice Motsepe for his investment to the development of soccer in South Africa.

"On behalf of the Amakhosi Family, I wish to congratulate Masandawana for winning the CAF Champions League,” said Motaung.

"The accolades must go to the entire team for their gallant performance. I will be amiss if I do not make a special mention of Mr Patrice Motsepe for the leadership and investment he is contributing to the development of soccer in South Africa."

"South Africa can only benefit from this glory," added Motaung. I wish every South African a celebratory moment in appreciation of this development.

"Well done, you deserve the glory and enjoy the moment!"
