Mosimane: Sirino needs to improve final pass

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has urged Gaston Sirino to improve his decision-making in crucial areas of the pitch.

Sirino has been in good form of late and picked up the Man-of-the-Match prize against Golden Arrows in Sundowns' 2-0 MTN8 quarter-final victory on Saturday.

However, Mosimane feels there is still room for improvement.

"He (Gaston Sirino) has been having a good roll. He is always an exciting player. Only his last pass, he doesn't release properly," 'Shingles' was quoted as saying by Soccer Laduma.

"He does everything well, it is just the last pass. When he is supposed to shoot he passes or when he is supposed to pass he shoots or dribbles."

However, Mosimane is wary of obsessing too much over Sirino's weak points, as he does not want to inhibit his flair.

"You have to let the talent go, you don't want to stifle it because it is beautiful and exciting. That is how football should be played," the 54-year-old added.

Sundowns will face Wydad Casablanca in a crucial CAF Champions League encounter at Stade Mohamed V on Friday night. The last time they were on Champions League duty, Sirino shone against Togo-Port. Come Friday, he will be looking to deliver the goods once again.
