Mosimane pleased after Champions League exploits

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane remained reserved during his assessment of his side's impressive 3-1 victory over AS Vita on Wednesday.

Anthony Laffor opened the scoring midway through the opening half at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, before the hosts pegged the Champions of Africa back with an equaliser five minutes later.

But Masandawana showed their fighting spirit with Yannick Zakri and Sibusiso Vilakazi scoring two well executed team goals in the second-half, to inflict a rare home defeat at the hands of Les Dauphins Noirs.

"In football it is always important to have humility after victory," he said after the win moved the Brazilians to the summit of Group C.

"To say that the match was easy would be arrogant. It was not easy, and remember that the score was 1-1 at half time. It was not easy.

"The two goals we scored in the second half were the result of mistakes by their defence. We pressed them and stole the ball, saw opportunities and scored."

Sundowns' next CAF Champions League group encounter will see them welcome Espérance de Tunis to the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on the Friday, June 2.
