Mosimane: Kekana is underrated

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundown coach Pitso Mosimane has bemoaned the lack of credit that midfielder Hlompho Kekana receives from the public.

The versatile Kekana has been was a catalyst in Sundowns' Premiership title clinching campaign, while he was also instrumental in the run that led to the Telkom Knockout title in December.

Mosimane believes Kekana should be getting as much praise as Wits winger Daine Klate.

"Kekana is very underrated, everybody talks about Daine Klate winning titles," Mosimane told Goal website.

"I think he deserves it and I think Daine had a fantastic season, but people undermine and underrate Kekana - this boy has won so many titles, but he is not the talk of the town.

"I tip him [Kekana] as one of the contenders for Player of the Season because he played right through the year. He defends, he passes and scores for us."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
