Mosimane hails 'Downs work ethic

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed that his team's secret to success is their dedication.

Sundowns lifted the Premiership title on Saturday following their 1-0 win over Platinum Stars, their second league title in three seasons under Mosimane.

The Brazilians set a new record of 71 points in a season with a record 22 wins, five draws and three losses.

"It looks good and it sounds good to see the table. To get 22 wins out of 30 is a big number. And we only had three losses," Mosimane told The Sowetan.

"We're a little disappointed because we're one point short. When everyone was talking about 60 points, our target was 72.

"We could have scored more goals but the points are more important. So it's not only about the talent. It's team chemistry, it's discipline. We played more games than anyone.

"We played eight games in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup. It's been a long season and the boys deserve it."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
