Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa has revealed that the Urban Warriors will be without the services of South Africa Under-23 international forward Tashreeq Morris due to injury.
The 22-year-old injured himself whilst on national team duty during the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, and De SA says the forward faces a spell of up to a month on the treatment table.
"It’s a horrible, irritating and deep groin injury, which is quite common," he told reporters.
"It’s known as Gilmore’s groin, which we call a sportsman’s groin - he picked that up at the Olympics with the national team.
"He hasn’t shaken that off yet; he has had two scans already and it’s still inflamed, so it’s just continuous work with him to get him right, a lot of physiotherapy and strengthening and so on.
"From the meeting we had with the doctor this morning, he’ll probably only be fully fit in four weeks’ time," De Sa concluded.
The Ikamva-based outfit played with target man Nathan Paulse up front against Baroka FC in the absence of Morris and Prince Nxumalo, who is nursing a hamstring injury.
