Morena's future in Celtic's hands

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic appear intent on keeping hold of winger Thapelo Morena with the players agent revealing the club has already declined to transfer bids.

According to Tim Sukazi, Phunya Sele Sele have already turned down offers from Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and defending Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

"Celtic have a prerogative for the transfer of Thapelo Morena, the player is currently contracted to them and unfortunately he will need to honour his contract," Sukazi told KickOff.

"Like any player he will want to grow and develop his game by joining a big club, but unfortunately it's not in his hands, it is more in Celtic's hands.

"It is well documented that Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are interested in the player. Both clubs went as far as engaging Bloemfontein Celtic in the matter, but unfortunately the club was not prepared to sell."

Celtic media officer Sello Nduna has revealed that Morena forms a core part of the team's future objectives.

"Morena is our most prized asset. Our intention as a team is to challenge for the championship, to challenge for some silverware," Nduna added.
