Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns winger Thapelo Morena says he is ready to play in any given position in Pitso Mosimane's star-studded side.
The 23-year-old winger, who is gradually consolidating his berth in Downs' squad, was deployed at right-back, and did not seem fazed during Saturday's Telkom Knockout quarter-final 3-1 defeat on penalties to Supersport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Despite the defeat, Morena managed to hold his own against Supersport's troublesome wingers Thuso Phala and Thabo Mnyamane, while he was also a threat going forward.
"When coach Pitso deployed me at right-back position I never complained, because as a soccer player you need to be versatile and be ready to play at any position," he told Vodacom Soccer.
"And I'm happy that I managed to hold myself against Supersport's tricky winger like Thuso Phala. To me, playing at right-back is not that different to right-wing, the only difference at right-back is that I have to defend and also overlap.
"I have always waited for my chance (to play), and when I'm given the nod I have to make an impact."
Having joined the CAF Champions League champions from Bloemfontein Celtic during the preseason, the Randfontein-winger has since made five starts and one substitute appearance in all competitions to date.
