Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic winger Thapelo Morena has admitted he would not be afraid to fight for a starting position at one of the Absa Premiership's 'big three' clubs.
Morena's outstanding play down the right flank for Phunya Sele Sele has caught the eye, and he has been called up to the national team in recent months.
According to KickOff, the player, who can operate in defence or in attack, says he would welcome a move to a club like Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns or Orlando Pirates, although there have been no official links to date.
"At this stage there's no offer that I know about, but having said that I won't have a problem in joining any of those teams as long as proper channels are followed," Morena said.
"Whoever might be interested must do the right thing and speak to both my agent and my club. I'm a Celtic player. My contract with the club will only expire at the end of next season, but still they have an option to renew."
The 22-year-old says he would welcome the additional demands and expectations that playing for one of South Africa's football giants would bring.
"I would prefer to go to where there’s competition because that's the only way I will grow as a player, but also to a club where I will be given enough opportunity to prove myself," he said.
