Celtic midfielder Thapelo Morena insists he has not put pen to paper on
a contract extension despite the club's managing director saying
otherwise.
The 22-year-old reacted with confusion to Rali Ramabodu's announcement that he had signed a new three-year deal.
Morena has been the subject of a series of transfer rumours during the off-season, with Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns both reportedly interested in securing his services.
"When I saw that I was shocked because I haven't signed anything," he told reporters. "I was with the under-23 national team camp and I didn't sign anything.
"My manager is busy talking to them and he is asking them what is happening because they released a statement while I was here in the camp and I was not there."
While the playmaker admitted he was flattered by the interest being shown in him from the likes of Chiefs and Sundowns.
"The moment big teams want you, you feel you can grow your football and see many things in life," he said. "So I was surprised that Celtic signed a contract without my knowledge."
